Questions and Answers
Agent: I am looking into the
Outlook program and there are so many that I am
confused as to which one I need.
Mark: Microsoft Outlook should only
be purchased as a part of Microsoft Office. You can
purchase MS Office at Sam's, Costco or your favorite
computer store.
Microsoft Office Standard is the minimum suite I
recommend. You can compare the Suites here

Agent: I need a website presence on
the internet but I don't have a ton of money to
start with and I don't want to be left out in the
cold with a with a one man shop that leaves me
hanging when he/she decides its time to move on . .
.
Mark:
www.AdvancedAccess.com is a great
"template website" to start with. A happy medium
between good features, ease of use, search engine
placement potential and bang for your buck. I like
Advanced Access for a beginner to intermediate level
agent and web experience. I like
www.Number1Expert.com for a top producer
and advanced level web user. However the new one to
watch is

Agent: How do I get a signature in
Outlook with pizzazz?
Mark: Give your e-mail messages
professional polish or personal pizzazz by learning
how to create and manage e-mail signatures using
Microsoft Outlook.

Agent: Can you help me set up
Quicken for Real Estate?
Mark: If you have not purchased
Quicken yet, get "Quicken Premier Home & Business
2006 for Windows." Here is a
Quicken backup file that contains recommended
real estate agent categories and accounts for Quicken.
Backup if you already have data in Quicken.
Create a new File, unzip and use the restore
function with this back up file. If "backup,
download, unzip and restore" are foreign words to
you, you need technical assistance. Hire this
out.
Agent: I
plan to move my email and contact management to
Outlook. I have Outlook Express. Will I be
able to access the same features as in Microsoft
Outlook, or will I need to get a copy of Outlook?
Mark: Outlook Express is a "Light" version of
Outlook. There are very few features in Outlook
Express. To get full features you must have Outlook.
If you have Microsoft Office you have Outlook. If
you don’t have Office, I do not recommend buying the
stand-alone Outlook program. I recommend Microsoft
Office.
Scrap the Phonebook
The Yellow Pages industry dropped
540 million printed directories this
year. That's more than one per person. With
the Internet available literally in our
hands, is this acceptable?
Like the printed encyclopedia, the
obsolescence of the printed Yellow Pages is
inevitable. However, considering that in the
U.S., 97% of this $14 billion industry is
derived from their print division alone,
these mammoth media dinosaurs will hold on
for as long as possible.
PaperlessPetition.org will expedite an
end to this needless environmental waste,
educate consumers on
free and easy alternatives, and shed
light on the growing inaccuracy of
readership statistics that drive advertisers
to still invest in this antiquated medium.

address be removed from the Yellow Pages
